Thursday 25th May - bike *** Two rivers, Deben to the Orwell - sunny start then mainly cloudy with a chilly NE breeze.

Walk.

With Maeva coming later and a chance of a windsurf at Wrabness on the Stour this afternoon Mag and I went for an early short walk along to make the most of the lovely start to the day, with sunshine and light breezes it was certainly the best part of the day. We were down on the prom at 6.30 and I got a few pics to send to the TV weather and was lucky enough to have one featured on this evening ITV About Anglia, it always makes my day:) The weather then went downhill, it clouded over and the breeze increased making it feel decidedly chilly which put me right off a sail, in the end I couldn?t face another 52 mile round trip into Essex so gave it a miss today, breezy tomorrow too I think but it is our 44 year wedding anniversary and we are planning a day out at Helmingham Hall to check out the gardens, we are lucky the entrance fees are being paid by an old friend as a joint Birthday present, we are lucky, should be good, fingers crossed that the weathers better tomorrow! We then had a nice visit from some long-time windsurfing friends, Neil and Linda Hurrell before they headed over to the Stour for Neil to foil.

Bike.

With our company gone around midday we drive over to pick up Jay and Maeva for the afternoon. The poor little girl is suffering with her teeth at the moment, its just not fair:( Maeva has some yummy banana delight for lunch as I make the adults lunch, then with the little.un asleep I decide to head out on my bike as I don?t get to use it very often these days with my cycling partner, Mag still recovering from her broken arm. I wrap up and head over to Marsh Lane first so I can have a tail wind on the cycle along the seafront! Passing Kings Fleet taking yet more pics of the old boats on the Deben, a quick trip around Felixstowe Ferry boat yard before whizzing back along the quiet prom as yet another huge container ship slowly heads in. Past The Dip, then around to The Fludyers and by the time I made it too Landguard Nature Reserve the container ship was entering the Orwell accompanied by two tugs. I then stopped to watch a third tug attach a rope. I then followed the ship as it approached its berth and the yellow Harwich Foot Ferry lands, I get several cool pics. Then it?s a head wind home as I take the more sheltered route through Langer Park and home. Mag, Jay and Hannah were out for a walk to the library but were soon home for a scone and cuppa.
We are really looking forward to tomorrow and am not bothered about missing another windsurfing session especially with a few days of NE breezes next week with some good tides for Felixstowe:)
